Kaitou Magician's Flower

I thought a picture of Kaitou Magician and Li Meilin was long overdue, so here finally is a fanart of the two. I think Kai's favorite holiday is Halloween, same as Tomoyo. This is an old doodle that I finally decided to lineart and color. I finished it yesterday but I couldn't decide what to do with the background or what to call it. I initially wanted to make this into a Tarot card, but I was too lazy to come up with a Tarot design.

I thought that Meilin was unrecognizable with her hair down, so I drew her in her battle costume. I always wanted to draw Meilin with fans, so I am glad I got to here. Meilin is wearing her battle costume, slightly modified from the Card Captor Sakura days, same as how I like to modify Syaoran's battle costume too. It's just mainly the bell sleeves that are changed.

I enjoy sketching Meilin and Kai frequently, but never seem to finish them. Kai's hair always is such a pain to draw, though I find that he is an easy character to draw otherwise. In my original doodle, it think Kai was supposed to have been dressed up as a vampire, so it was rather Halloween-theme, but the final product really isn't that Halloweeny. Or every day is Halloween for Kai, I guess.
